The idea

The application should not own the work.

A computer can leave you alone when you want an ordinary desktop—and become much more capable when you want to work with somebody, automate something, or look underneath it.

A good computer is quiet first.

One person, one workspace and a few applications should feel like a good personal computer. No collaboration furniture, agent controls or administration panels need to announce themselves before they are useful. Tinkering is invited and never assigned as homework.

The computer is, in a fundamental way, yours. That means the defaults can be strong without becoming compulsory, and security can put useful boundaries around software without making the owner feel like an intruder.

Working together belongs below applications.

Screen sharing turns one person into the driver and everybody else into an audience. In a shared workspace, each person uses their own view and input. Presence, permissions, authorship and history continue across the notes app, a file manager, an ebook and a terminal because the desktop supplies them once.

A workspace is the durable boundary: work, applications, collaborators, permissions, history and the machine that keeps a complete copy. A strip of windows is merely layout. Moving a window should not accidentally change who can see it.

Applications can become smaller and more honest.

An application is a lens onto notes, books, messages, files and other work. It names the things it can show and the actions it can perform. Search, undo, history, file access, collaboration and accessibility do not need to arrive as eight slightly different private systems in every app.

Normal Linux applications still run. Compatibility is not a temporary embarrassment: a new desktop that requires abandoning useful software before it becomes useful is another compatibility island. Native applications gain deeper shared state and named actions; existing applications keep their interfaces and can share a rendered window when needed.

Agents are collaborators with stricter boundaries.

An agent raises familiar questions: who may do what, what changed, and who did it? It uses the same named actions and scoped permissions as people, scripts and assistive technology. It is labelled as an agent, its work keeps its identity, and it does not inherit the rest of the computer because one task needed three files.

AI is optional. The underlying permission, meaning and history model is not; human collaboration and accessibility already need it.

Linux is the beginning, not the aesthetic.

The system builds on Fedora, Wayland, portals, Flatpak and the software people already use. The code is AGPL-3.0. Open source is a real licence and an inspectable implementation, not a claim that the company is a cooperative. The company is venture-backed; the source is still part of the product.
