App → shell.
Variants§
Pick
Show a chooser; answered by Reply::Picked, Reply::Cancelled,
Reply::Nobody or Reply::Failed.
Fields
PickContents
Owner selection for contents; the app supplies no filesystem path.
ReadContents
ReleaseContents
Open
Open path in the app that owns its type; answered by
Reply::Opened or Reply::Failed.
OpenUri
Open uri in the app that claims its scheme; answered by
Reply::Opened, Reply::Unclaimed or Reply::Failed.
ChooseApp
Show the shell’s app chooser: the installed apps, each with its
icon, to choose one for purpose (what the app will do with it, in
the person’s words). Answered by Reply::AppChosen,
Reply::Cancelled, Reply::Nobody or Reply::Failed.
AwaitIdentity
Retired: an app asked to hear when its workspace had an identity selected. A workspace’s identity is the person the device’s certificate names, so nothing asks this and no shell answers it; it stays so a message an older build wrote still reads.
ChooseIdentity
Retired: an app asked the shell to show its identity chooser. There
is nothing to choose; kept for the same reason as
Self::AwaitIdentity.
