Enum Feel
pub enum Feel {
Standard,
Brisk,
Calm,
Still,
}Expand description
The pace a component’s motion plays at: Self::Standard is the theme’s, the others multiply
the theme’s token durations, and Self::Still holds the component still.
A component takes it as motion: (the motion of a row’s mark, a list’s rows, a section’s
reveal). It changes how long the design system’s named motions take, not what they do: the
curve stays the theme’s spring, reduced motion still lands movement at once, a shortcut still
lands its result, and a still theme still holds everything still.
The default is what every component already played, so an app that says nothing gets the theme’s pace.
Variants§
Standard
The theme’s own pace. What a component does when it says nothing.
Brisk
Quicker: for dense, repetitive work where the eye is already where the change will be (a checklist being worked through).
Calm
Slower and softer: for a surface a person reads or watches, where the change should not feel hurried (a long list reordering under them).
Still
No motion at all: every change lands on the next frame. For a view that exists to be scanned, not followed.
Implementations§
§impl Feel
impl Feel
pub fn over(self, motion: EffectiveMotion) -> EffectiveMotion
pub fn over(self, motion: EffectiveMotion) -> EffectiveMotion
This pace over the motion the person allows and the theme provides.
Only the token durations change, so everything derived from them follows: a named motion’s spring, the cap on a shortcut’s context cue, the fade reduced motion keeps. The person’s reduced-motion setting and a still theme pass through untouched, so no choice an app makes here can animate for someone who asked it not to.
