Enum WindowRole
pub enum WindowRole {
Ordinary,
InputSurface,
Sheet,
}Expand description
What a component’s window is to the session.
Variants§
Ordinary
An app window a person opens, arranges and closes.
InputSurface
The session’s on-screen input surface, such as an on-screen keyboard. Its window announces the component’s own app id, by which the compositor (on the private display it launched the surface on) floats it outside the workspace and shows it only while a text field is focused. It is a session service started without a workspace, so it attaches to no workspace runtime. Its controls type into other apps’ fields, so no headless drive may operate it. It stands on no ground of its own: it floats over another app’s content and shows it through.
Sheet
A sheet the shell shows over the desktop (the power menu). It stands on no ground of its own: what it does not paint shows the desktop under it.
